Portsmouth, New Hamshire

In the morning we crossed the bridge and arrived at Portsmouth from York. Like York, it is a beautiful city along the sea coast with a population of about 21,000. We had a chance to visit the city hall which was used to be a hospital and now functions as a government office building. The Mayor of the city is an honorary post and he works on Friday afternoon. Vito had a chance to preside at the council meeting while the mayor was not present. How wonderful!

Shortly afterwards, we paid a visit to the Seacoast Science Center and it was interesting to watch beautiful corals, blue lobsters, sea horse and various kinds of fish in the centre; it was also interesting to listen to the history of the adjacent park and the teaching gardens where some plants can be used as herbal medicine and the seeds of which were brought along back to the sixteen century.
